Powerful
compositions that enhance the value of very simple landscapes
Figurative painting has still a few beautiful days to come
and moments of emotion to share when it is practiced by an
artist like Jean-Claude Rondeau, the more so as the subjects
he chooses and transmits are inspired mostly by Normandy.
From Mont-Saint-Michel sketched in a poetic distance to the
picturesque, animated and colored "Lieutenance"
from Honfleur, and passing by the majestic and expressive
cliffs of Etretat, Jean-Claude Rondeau affirms, not only an
excellent skill, but also a perception offering vitality,
not reinforced by an anarchistic brush stroke, but expressed
with an obvious experience of nature [...] thanks to a beautiful
palette of colors and to the decision of powerful compositions
[...] which enhance the value [...] of the very simple landscapes
[...]
And believe me; it is not so current to meet such a natural
sincerity, a real sensitivity concerning the destiny of the
blank canvas thus promoted to a work of art.
